     Arthur Edward Hay Macnaghten was born in 1887.1 He was the son of Colonel William Hay Macnaghten and Alice Ellen Brander.2 He died on 31 July 1916, killed in action.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the 20th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment.1

     Violet Isabella Macnaghten was the daughter of Colonel William Hay Macnaghten and Alice Ellen Brander.2 She married, firstly, Frederick Harold Carlyon, son of Frederick Carlyon and Lucy Turner, on 15 September 1898 at St. Andrews, Ashley Place, Westminster, London, England.1,3 She married, secondly, Edmund Hugh Farrer on 8 November 1912.1 She died on 1 March 1918 at Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.1,3
     From 15 September 1898, her married name became Carlyon. From 8 November 1912, her married name became Farrer.1

     He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)2 He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, with a Master of Surgery (C.M.)2 He lived in 1901 at 66 Lemon Street, Truro St. Mary, Cornwall, England.2 He lived at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa.1

     Chester Macnaghten was born on 4 May 1843.1 He was the son of Elliot MacNaghten and Isabella Law.2 He married, firstly, Isabella Julia Hodgkinson, daughter of Reverend G. Hodgkinson.1 He married, secondly, Susan Ferrier Kinloch, daughter of James John Kinloch, in 1882.1 He died on 10 February 1896 at age 52, without issue.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Principal at Rajkumar College, India.1
