     John Nairn was born on 4 April 1853.1 He was the son of Michael Nairn and Catherine Ingram.2 He married, firstly, Mary Macdonell Methven.1 He married, secondly, Gertrude Couper, daughter of Roderick Allison Couper, on 8 October 1889.1 He died on 12 March 1928 at age 74.1
     He lived at Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland.1
