     Sir Peyton Skipwith, 7th Bt. was born on 13 March 1743.1 He was the son of Sir William Skipwith, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Smith.2 He married, firstly, Anne Miller, daughter of Hugh Miller, in 1764.1 He married, secondly, Jean Miller, daughter of Hugh Miller, in 1788.1 He died on 9 October 1805 at age 62 at Virginia, U.S.A.1
     He was educated at England.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Skipwith, of Prestwould, co. Leicester [E., 1622] on 25 February 1764.1 He added greatly to his American estates, building a new seat called Prestwould in Mecklenburg County, Virginia.1 He was tried for treason as a loyalist at the time of the American War of Independence but acquitted.1
