He married Donata Emma Gräfin zu Castell-Rüdenhausen, daughter of Siegfried Casimir Friedrich 4th Fürst zu Castell-Rüdenhausen and Irene Gräfin zu Solms-Laubach, on 9 February 1991 at Rüdenhausen, Germany.
