     Jaime Mendez de Vigo y del Arco was born on 23 November 1933 at Madrid, Spain. He is the son of Manuel Mendez de Vigo y Bernaldo de Quirós and Maria del Consuelo del Arco y Cubas. He married Monika Maria Prinzessin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg, daughter of Karl VIII Fürst zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and Carolina dei Conti Rignon, on 22 September 1968 at Bronnbach, Germany.

     Maria del Pilar Mendez de Vigo y Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg was born on 20 October 1970.1 She is the daughter of Jaime Mendez de Vigo y del Arco and Monika Maria Prinzessin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg. She married Paul-Wladimir von Holstein-Gottorp, Duke of Oldenburg, son of Friedrich August Wilhelm Christian Ernst von Holstein-Gottorp, Duke of Oldenburg and Marie-Cécile Kira Viktoria Luise Prinzessin von Preußen, on 20 January 2001 at Bronnbach an der Tauber, Germany.1
     From 20 January 2001, her married name became von Holstein-Gottorp.1
