     Albrecht Prinz zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg was born on 15 March 1863 at Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.2 He is the son of Friedrich Herzog zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and Adelheid Prinzessin zu Schaumburg-Lippe.2 He married, firstly, Ortrud Gräfin zu Ysenburg und Büdingen, daughter of Karl Graf zu Ysenburg und Büdingen and Agnes Gräfin zu Ysenburg und Büdingen, on 14 October 1906 at Meerholz, Germany.3 He married, secondly, Hertha Prinzessin zu Ysenburg und Büdingen, daughter of Bruno 3rd Fürst zu Ysenburg und Büdingen in Büdingen and Bertha Gräfin zu Castell-Rüdenhausen, on 19 September 1920 at Büdingen, Hessen, Germany.3 He died on 23 April 1948 at age 85 at Glücksburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.3
     Albrecht Prinz zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg gained the title of Prinz Albert zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg. He was baptised with the name of Albrecht Christian Adolf Karl Eugen zu.1
