     Elisabeth Prinzessin zu Schaumburg-Lippe was born on 5 March 1841 at Bückeburg, Niedersachsen, Germany.1 She was the daughter of Georg I Wilhelm Prinz zu Schaumburg-Lippe and Ida Caroline Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont.1 She married Wilhelm von Hanau, 2nd Prinz von Hanau und Horowitz, son of Friedrich Wilhelm I Kurfürst von Hessen-Kassel and Getrud Prinzessin von Hanau und Horowitz, on 30 January 1866 at Frankfurt-am-Main, Hessen, Germany.1 She and Wilhelm von Hanau, 2nd Prinz von Hanau und Horowitz were divorced in 1868. She died on 30 November 1890 at age 49 at Wiesbaden, Hessen, Germany.1
     Elisabeth Prinzessin zu Schaumburg-Lippe gained the title of Prinzessin zu Schaumburg-Lippe.1 Her married name became von Hanau.

He married Ida Caroline Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont, daughter of Georg I Prinz zu Waldeck und Pyrmont and Auguste Prinzessin zu Schwarzburg-Sondershausen.1 He died in 1860.
