     Gavin Douglas was born circa 1475.1 He was the son of Archibald Douglas, 5th Earl of Angus and Elizabeth Boyd.1 He died in September 1522.1
     He wrote the book The Palace of Honour, published 1501, an allegorical poem, which was not published until 1553.1 He held the office of Bishop of Dunkeld in 1515.1 He translated Virgil's Æneid.1

     Lady Marion Douglas was born between 1470 and 1477. She was the daughter of Archibald Douglas, 5th Earl of Angus and Elizabeth Boyd.1 She married John Dunlop, 9th Chief of Dunlop. A contract for the marriage of Lady Marion Douglas and Cuthbert Cuninghame, 3rd Earl of Glencairn was signed on 24 June 1492.1
     She was also known as Mariot.2 Her married name became Dunlop. From 24 June 1492, her married name became Cunningham.1

Cuthbert Cuninghame, 3rd Earl of Glencairn1

     Cuthbert Cuninghame, 3rd Earl of Glencairn was the son of Robert Cuninghame, 2nd Earl of Glencairn and Christian Lindsay.2 A contract for the marriage of Cuthbert Cuninghame, 3rd Earl of Glencairn and Lady Marion Douglas was signed on 24 June 1492.1 He died from 23 May 1540 to May 1541.3
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Kilmaurs [S., 1464] circa 1490.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Glencairn [S., 1488] on 13 August 1503, when his title was apparently recognised.1 On 24 July 1511 he was granted a charter of the Earldom and Barony of Glencairn.3 On 4 September 1526 he made an abortive attempt to wrest custody of King James V from the Douglas faction and was beaten by them at encounter of Linlithgow.3

     He gained the title of 2nd Lord Lyle.1
