     Lady Margaret Douglas was the daughter of David Douglas, 7th Earl of Angus and Margaret Hamilton.1 She married by contract, firstly, Sir Walter Scott, 4th of Buccleuch, son of Sir William Scott of Kirkurd and Buccleuch, younger and Grizel Bethune, on 19 June 1568.1 She married, secondly, Francis Stewart, 1st and last Earl of Bothwell, son of John Stewart, 1st Lord Darnley and Lady Jean Hepburn, before 1 July 1592.2 She died in 1640.1 She was buried at Eckford, EnglandG.2
     From after 19 June 1568, her married name became Scott. From before 1 July 1592, her married name became Stewart.

     George Seton, 1st Lord Seton was the son of Sir William Seton of Seton and Janet Dunbar.2 He married, firstly, Lady Margaret Stewart, daughter of John Stewart, 3rd Earl of Buchan and Lady Elizabeth Douglas, before 8 January 1436/37.1,2 He married, secondly, Christian Murray, daughter of Sir William Murray of Tullibardine, before 8 January 1460/61.2 He died circa 15 July 1478.1,2
     He was appointed Knight in 1439.2 In 1448 he went to France as an envoy.2 He was created 1st Lord Seton [Scotland] circa 22 March 1450/51.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1458.2 In 1472 he went to England as an envoy.2

     Christian Lindsay was the daughter of John Lindsay, 1st Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Agnes Stewart.2,3 She married, firstly, John Seton, Master of Seton, son of George Seton, 1st Lord Seton and Lady Margaret Stewart, circa 20 January 1458/59.2 She married, secondly, Robert Cuninghame, 2nd Earl of Glencairn, son of Alexander Cuninghame, 1st Earl of Glencairn and Margaret Hepburn, before 19 July 1476.3 She died between 1491 and 11 March 1496.2
     From circa 20 January 1458/59, her married name became Seton. From before 19 July 1476, her married name became Cunningham.

     John Lindsay, 1st Lord Lindsay of the Byres was born circa 1402.2 He was the son of Sir William Lindsay of the Byres and Christiana Keith.3,4 He married Agnes Stewart, daughter of Robert Stewart, 1st Lord Lorn and Lady Joan Stewart.5 He died on 6 February 1482.4
     He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland]4 In 1424 he was a hostage for King James I's ransom by the English.4 He was created 1st Lord Lindsay of the Byres [Scotland] circa October 1444.6 He held the office of Justiciar of Scotland, North of the Forth in 1457.4 He held the office of a Lord of Session in March 1457/58.4
