     Maj.-Gen. Edward Barrington de Fonblanque was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1 He gained the rank of Inspector-General in 1951 in the service of the Federal Home Guard, Malaya.1
