Sir Henry King and Mary Hewitt.1 He married, firstly, Mary Thorn, daughter of William Thorn, in 1841.1 He married, secondly, Mary Ann Bertie Galloway, daughter of Major Thomas Leech Galloway, on 13 July 1869.1 He died on 16 December 1879 at age 71.1
     Colonel Edward Richard King gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 36th Regiment.1
