     Mary Ethel Thynne was born on 27 February 1888.1 She was the daughter of John Granville Thynne and Mary Elizabeth Linklater.1 She married George Gilbert Batstone, son of William Batstone, on 7 June 1911.1 She died on 17 November 1950 at age 62.1
      From 7 June 1911, her married name became Batstone.1

     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was decorated with the award of the Order of St. Stanislaus of Russia (2nd class with swords).1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.1
