     Robert Aitken was born in 1805.3 He was the son of John Aitken and Elizabeth Donaldson.2 He died on 17 October 1874 at Silvermines, Linlithgowshire, Scotland.2,3
     Circa 1840 he was renting from Lord Hopetoun the small holdings of Wester Tartraven and Lime Craig of Silvermine.2
