     Sir William Gostwick, 1st Bt. was baptised on 2 December 1565 at St. Mary's, Bedford, Bedfordshire, England.1 He was the son of John Gostwick and Elizabeth Petre.1 He married Jane Owen, daughter of Henry Owen, before 1588.1 He died on 19 September 1615 at age 49 at Willington, Bedfordshire, England.1 He was buried on 29 September 1615 at Willington, Bedfordshire, England.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 16 April 1638.1
     Sir William Gostwick, 1st Bt. held the office of Sheriff of Bedfordshire from 1595 to 1596.1 He was created 1st Baronet Gostwick, of Willington, co. Bedford [England] on 25 November 1611.1
