     Arthur Wellesley Anstruther was born on 5 March 1864.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Robert Anstruther of Balcaskie, 5th Bt. and Louisa Maria Chowne Marshall.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Mary Alma Cumming-Bruce, daughter of Thomas John Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Bruce, 5th Baron Thurlow of Thurlow, on 26 April 1893.1 He married, secondly, Louisa Adele Rose Trapman, daughter of William Hume Trapman, on 21 October 1901.1 He died on 20 October 1938 at age 74.1
     Arthur Wellesley Anstruther gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Fife Artillery Militia.1 He held the office of Private Secretary to the President of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries between 1892 and 1898.1 He held the office of Chief Clerk to the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries between 1898 and 1902.1 He held the office of Assistant Secretary to the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries between 1902 and 1920.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1908.1
