     Hugh Gough Arbuthnot was born on 29 January 1840.1 He was the son of Archibald Francis Arbuthnot and Hon. Gertrude Sophia Gough.1 He married Caroline Molyneux, daughter of Reverend Capel Molyneux and Maria Carpenter, on 9 June 1864.1 He died on 1 June 1905 at age 65.1
     Hugh Gough Arbuthnot held the office of Lieutenant of the City of London.1
