     Lionel Gough Arbuthnot was born on 24 September 1867.1 He was the son of Hugh Gough Arbuthnot and Caroline Molyneux.1 He married, firstly, Violet Rebecca Morris, daughter of Sir John Henry Morris, on 18 April 1894.1 He and Violet Rebecca Morris were divorced in 1913.1 He married, secondly, Ada Ellen Brunker, daughter of Lt.-Col. H. M. G. Brunker, on 9 June 1927.1 He died on 16 May 1942 at age 74.1
     Lionel Gough Arbuthnot gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Lancashire Fusiliers.1 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1919.1
