     Gavyn Farr Arthur was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He graduated from Oxford University with the degree of Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1975 entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He held the office of Sheriff of the City of London between 1988 and 1999.1 He held the office of Alderman of Cripplegate Ward in 1991.1 He held the office of a Bencher in 2001.1
