     Sir John Bamfeild, 1st Bt. was born circa 1610.¹ He was the son of John Bamfeild and Elizabeth Drake.¹ He married Gertrude Coplestone, daughter of Amyan Coplestone and Gertrude Chichester, on 3 May 1637.¹ He died in April 1650.¹ He was buried at Politmore, Devon, England.¹
