Major Francis Denis Jack Annesley was born on 3 June 1864.2 He was the son of Captain William Henry Annesley and Lucy Ann Kelly.2 He married Clementina Maude Annesley, daughter of Captain Francis Charles Annesley and Matilda Rochfort, in 1892.1 He and Clementina Maude Annesley were divorced in 1906.1 He died on 23 March 1929 at age 64.2
He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 1st Battalion, the Buffs.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902.2 He gained the rank of Temporary Major in the service of the 8th Battalion, East Surrey Regiment.2
