     Thomas Cromwell, 1st and last Earl of Essex was born circa 1485.1 He was the son of Walter Cromwell.1 He married Elizabeth Wykes, daughter of Henry Wykes, in 1513. He died on 28 July 1540 at Tower Hill, The City, London, England, executed.1
     Thomas Cromwell, 1st and last Earl of Essex gained the title of 1st Earl of Essex.
