Major Sir George Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt. was born on 16 December 1871.1 He was the son of Sir George Bannerman of Elsick, 10th Bt. and Anne Mary Brooke.1 He married Joan Mary Harford, daughter of Frederic Dundas Harford and Amy Mary Josephine Stourton, on 12 May 1920.1 He died on 10 March 1934 at age 62, without male issue.1
Major Sir George Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt. gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Engineer.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd/5th North Staffordshire Regiment.1 He fought in the Boer War, where he was mentioned in dispatched.1 He succeeded to the title of 11th Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] on 3 December 1901.1 He fought in the Russo-Japanese War between 1904 and 1905, with the Japanese Army during the siege of Port Arthur.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Major.1 He fought in the First World War.1
