     Captain Oriel William Erskine Bannerman was born on 13 December 1877.1 He was the son of General William Bannerman and Louisa Constance Goddard.1 He married Emile Henriette Lousada, daughter of Captain Simeon Charles Lousada and Charlotte Sophia Moysey, on 14 September 1907 at Mussoorie, Bengal, India.1,2 He died on 3 February 1915 at age 37, while on active service.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 15th Lancers, Indian Army.1
