     Sir Hugh Berkeley was the son of Sir Patrick Berkeley.1 He married Eleva (?).1 He died, without issue.1
     He was sent by the Comyns, along with his brother, Walter, to form an alliance between the Welsh and Scots.1 He had a Crown charter from King Robert I, where he was described as 'of Fintriegask.1' He held the office of Thane of Balhelvie, Aberdeenshire.1 On 27 April 1296 he adhered to King John Balliol.1
