     Sir Walter de Berkeley of Towie is the son of Sir Patrick Berkeley.1
     Sir Walter de Berkeley of Towie was burgess of Perth.1 He fought in the Battle of Dunbar on 27 April 1296, where he was captured by the English.1 On 1 August 1322 he received a Crown charter of Towie, Turrif, Aberdeenshire.1 In 1323 he had a Crown charter of Kainzie, in THaneage of Balhelvie, Aberdeenshire.1

He was the son of Sir Patrick Barclay of Towie and Catherine Barclay of Gartlie.1 He married, firstly, unknown Innes, daughter of Sir Robert Innes, 11th of that Ilk.1 He married, secondly, unknown Gordon, daughter of Patrick Gordon of Methlic and Haddo.1
     In 1408 he was infeft in his lands.1
