Alexander Napier of Merchistoun was the son of Sir Alexander Napier of Merchistoun.1 He and Annabella Campbell obtained a marriage license on 9 October 1533 by Papal dispensation.2 He died in 1547, killed in action.2

Sir Patrick Barclay of Towie was the son of Walter Barclay of Towie and Elizabeth Hay.1 He married, firstly, Janet Elphinstone, daughter of Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone and Margaret Drummond.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Forbes, daughter of Duncan Forbes of Monymusk.1 He died in June 1589 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, killed by Meldrum of Moncoffer and others.1
