     Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone was born before 1536. He was the son of Alexander Elphinstone, 2nd Lord Elphinstone and Katherine Erskine. He married Margaret Drummond, daughter of Sir John Drummond and Margaret Stewart, in 1546. He died in May 1602.
     Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone gained the title of 3rd Baron Elphinstone.

     Margaret Drummond was the daughter of Sir John Drummond and Margaret Stewart.1 She married Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone, son of Alexander Elphinstone, 2nd Lord Elphinstone and Katherine Erskine, in 1546.
     Her married name became Elphinstone.

     Alexander Elphinstone, 2nd Lord Elphinstone was born before 1513. He was the son of Alexander Elphinstone, 1st Lord Elphinstone and Elizabeth Barlow. He died on 10 September 1547 at Pinkie, Scotland.
     Alexander Elphinstone, 2nd Lord Elphinstone gained the title of 2nd Baron Elphinstone.
