     He gained the rank of Captain.1

     Commander Hon. John Montagu Granville Waldegrave was born on 29 August 1905.1 He was the son of Montague Waldegrave, 5th Baron Radstock and Constance Marion Brodie.1 He married Lady Hersey Margaret Boyle, daughter of Captain Patrick James Boyle, 8th Earl of Glasgow and Hyacyinthe Mary Bell, on 29 June 1940.1 He died on 18 February 1944 at age 38, killed on active service on H.M.S. Penelope.1
     He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1944.1 He was decorated with the award of the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.).1 He gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1

     Lady Hersey Margaret Boyle was born on 11 July 1914.2 She was the daughter of Captain Patrick James Boyle, 8th Earl of Glasgow and Hyacyinthe Mary Bell.1,2 She married, firstly, Commander Hon. John Montagu Granville Waldegrave, son of Montague Waldegrave, 5th Baron Radstock and Constance Marion Brodie, on 29 June 1940.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. John Goring, son of Charles Goring and Gabrielle Beatrice Mary Alleyne, on 24 July 1947.2 She died in 1993.2
      From 29 June 1940, her married name became Waldegrave. From 24 July 1947, her married name became Goring.

     Captain Patrick James Boyle, 8th Earl of Glasgow was born on 18 June 1874.1 He was the son of David Boyle, 7th Earl of Glasgow and Dorothea Elizabeth Thomasina Hunter Blair.1 He married Hyacyinthe Mary Bell, daughter of William Abraham Bell, on 29 May 1906.1 He died on 14 December 1963 at age 89.1
     He was educated at H.M.S. Britannia, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1897 in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He gained the rank of Commander in 1909.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Viscount Kelburn [S., 1703] on 13 December 1915.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Earl of Glasgow [S., 1703] on 13 December 1915.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Lord Boyle, of Kelburn, Stewartoun, Finnick, Largs and Dalry [S., 1699] on 13 December 1915.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Fairlie of Fairlie, Ayrshire [U.K., 1897] on 13 December 1915.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Lord Boyle, of Stewartoun, Cumbraes, Fenwick, Largs and Dalry [S., 1703] on 13 December 1915.1 He retired from the military in 1919, with the rank of Captain.1 He was admitted to Lieutenant of the Royal Company of Archers.1 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Ayrshire between 1942 and 1963.1
