Edward George Keppel was born on 28 June 1847.1 He was the son of Reverend William Arnold Walpole Keppel and Frances Georgiana Sophia Marsham.1 He married, firstly, Mary Cecilia Georgiana King, daughter of Major George King, on 14 December 1875.1 He married, secondly, Minna Helen Elsie Rödel, daughter of Herman Rödel, on 28 July 1933.1 He died on 29 November 1934 at age 87.1
     Lt.-Col. Edward George Keppel held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 3rd Volunteer Battalion, Norfolk Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Highland Light Infantry and Manchester Regiment.1 He gained the rank of honorary Colonel in the service of the 3rd Volunteer Battalion, Norfolk Regiment.1 He was invested as a Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1927.1
