     Lt.-Cdr. Derek Charles Godfrey is the son of Vice-Admiral Harry Rowlandson Godfrey and Mary Caroline Pearl Barrett-Lennard.1 He married Evelyn Mary Barrett-Lennard, daughter of Reverend Dacre Fiennes Barrett-Lennard and Charlotte Dorothy Evelyn Bampton, on 18 May 1964.1
     Lt.-Cdr. Derek Charles Godfrey gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He adopted Ian Charles Godfrey on 12 September 1968.1
