     Alexander Pym was born on 8 January 1820 at Kneesworth House, Royston, Cambridgeshire, England.² He was the son of Francis Pym and Lady Jane Elizabeth Leslie-Melville.¹ He married Eliza Elizabeth Pell, daughter of Sir Arthur Pell, on 21 December 1847 at Wilburton, England.¹ He died on 13 August 1889 at age 69.¹
     He lived at Brickhill House, Bedfordshire, England.¹
