     Lt.-Col. Roger Fleetwood Hesketh was born on 28 July 1902.1 He was the son of Major Charles Hesketh Fleetwood-Hesketh and Anne Dorothea Brocklebank.1 He married Lady Mary Constance Lumley, daughter of Sir Lawrence Roger Lumley, 11th Earl of Scarbrough and Katherine Isobel McEwen, on 23 August 1952.1 He died in 1987.1
     Lt.-Col. Roger Fleetwood Hesketh was baptised with the name of Roger Bibby-Hesketh.1 On 29 June 1907 his name was legally changed to Roger Fleetwood-Hesketh.1 He was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1928 entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1942.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1944.1 He was decorated with the U.S. Bronze Star.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire in 1947.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Lancashire in 1947.1 He held the office of Mayor of Southport in 1950.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire between 1950 and 1972.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Southport between 1952 and 1959.1 He was Honorary Colonel of the Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry between 1956 and 1967.1 On 10 August 1956 his name was legally changed to Roger Fleetwood Hesketh by Deed Poll.1 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1970.1 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire between 1972 and 1977.1

     Mary Monica Assheton was born on 6 May 1903.3 She was the daughter of Sir Ralph Cockayne Assheton, 1st Bt. and Mildred Estelle Sybella Master.2 She married Charles Peter Fleetwood Hesketh, son of Major Charles Hesketh Fleetwood-Hesketh and Anne Dorothea Brocklebank, on 20 July 1940.3 She died on 14 June 1982 at age 79.1
     Her married name became Fleetwood-Hesketh. Mary Monica Assheton usually went by her middle name of Monica.1 From 20 July 1940, her married name became Hesketh.1 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire in 1951.1

     Sir Ralph Cockayne Assheton, 1st Bt. was born on 13 September 1860.2 He was the son of Ralph Assheton and Emily Augusta Feilden.2,3 He married Mildred Estelle Sybella Master, daughter of John Henry Master and Gertrude Emma Begbie, on 27 September 1898.2 He died on 21 September 1955 at age 95.4
