     Sir Henry Bingham, 1st Bt. was born in 1573 at Milton Abbas, County Mayo, Ireland.1 He was the son of Sir George Bingham and Cicely Martin.1 He married Catherine Byrne, daughter of John Byrne, before 1625.1 He died after 1648.1
     Sir Henry Bingham, 1st Bt. gained the rank of Captain in 1634 at Ireland in the service of the Army.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Castlebar [Ireland] from 1634 to 1635.1 He was created 1st Baronet Bingham, of Castlebar, co. Mayo [Nova Scotia] on 7 June 1634.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Castlebar [Ireland] between 1639 and 1648.1
