Paul Anthony Irby was born on 16 December 1784.1 He was the son of Sir Frederick Irby, 2nd Baron Boston and Christian Methuen.1 He married, firstly, Patience Anne Champion de Crespigny, daughter of Sir William Champion de Crespigny, 2nd Bt., on 2 December 1814.1 He married, secondly, Wilhelmina Powell, daughter of David Powell, in September 1836.2 He married, thirdly, Augusta Cowell, daughter of John B. Cowell, on 9 August 1849.2 He died on 10 February 1865 at age 80.2
