     Sir William Wentworth, 4th Bt. was born on 29 October 1686 at York Minster, York, Yorkshire, England.2 He was the son of Sir Mathew Wentworth, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Osbaldeston.2 He married Diana Blackett, daughter of Sir William Blackett, 1st Bt. and Julia Conyers, on 23 June 1720 at St. Paul's Cathedral, The City, London, England. He died on 1 March 1763 at age 76.2
     Sir William Wentworth, 4th Bt. gained the title of 4th Baronet Wentworth, of Bretton.
