     Thomas Whytehead was born on 30 November 1815 at Thormanby, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of Reverend Henry Robert Whytehead and Hannah Diana Bowman.1 He died on 19 March 1843 at age 27 at Waimate North, Bay of Islands, New Zealand, unmarried.1
     He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1837 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1840 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was chaplain to the Bishop of New Zealand in 1841.1 He wrote the book Poems, published 1842.1
