     Hon. Ethel Kate Bowen was the daughter of Charles Synge Christopher Bowen, Baron Bowen of Colwood and Emily Frances Rendel.1 She married Josiah Clement Wedgwood, 1st Baron Wedgwood, son of Clement Francis Wedgwood and Catherine Emily Rendel, on 3 July 1894.2 She and Josiah Clement Wedgwood, 1st Baron Wedgwood were divorced in 1919.2 She died in 1952.1
     From 3 July 1894, her married name became Wedgwood.1

     Josiah Clement Wedgwood, 1st Baron Wedgwood was born on 16 March 1872 at Barlaston, Staffordshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Clement Francis Wedgwood and Catherine Emily Rendel.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Ethel Kate Bowen, daughter of Charles Synge Christopher Bowen, Baron Bowen of Colwood and Emily Frances Rendel, on 3 July 1894.3 He and Hon. Ethel Kate Bowen were divorced in 1919.3 He married, secondly, Fletcher Ethel Willett, daughter of Edward Guy Willett, on 25 June 1919.3 He died on 26 July 1943 at age 71.4
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.3 He was educated at Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London, EnglandG.3 He was Assistant Constructor of Portsmouth Dockyard between 1895 and 1896.3 He was Naval Architect of Elswick Shipyard between 1896 and 1900.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the Elswick Battalion.3 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901.3 He was Resident Magistrate of Ernleo, Transvaal between 1902 and 1904.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle-under-Lyme between 1906 and 1942.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in 1914 in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.5 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1916, where he was mentioned in dispatches twice and was wounded.3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915 for his part in the landing at Cape Helles from the SS River Clyde.3 He gained the rank of Major in 1916 in the 2nd South African Infantry Brigade.5 He was Assistant Director of Trench Warfare.5 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1917.5 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1924.3 He was Chancellor and Chief Civil Commissioner of the Duchy of Lancaster in 1924.3 He held the office of Mayor of Newcastle-under-Lyme between 1930 and 1932.3 He was created 1st Baron Wedgwood, of Barlaston, co. Stafford [U.K.] on 21 January 1942.3

     Anna Matilda Persse was born in 1853.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Moore Persse and Margaret Hickman.1 She married Lt.-Col. Henry Caddell, son of Reverend Henry Caddell and Ellen Buckingham, on 28 May 1872 at Kotagiri, IndiaG.1 She died in 1937.1
     From 28 May 1872, her married name became Caddell.1

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 89th Irish Fusiliers.1
