Gilbert George Reginald Sackville, 8th Earl De La Warr was born on 22 March 1869.1 He was the son of Reginald Windsor Sackville, 7th Earl De La Warr and Constance Mary Elizabeth Cochrane-Wishart-Baillie.1 He married, firstly, Lady Muriel Agnes Brassey, daughter of Sir Thomas Brassey, 1st Earl Brassey and Anna Allnutt, on 4 August 1891.2 He and Lady Muriel Agnes Brassey were divorced in 1902.2 He married, secondly, Hilda Mary Clavering Tredcroft, daughter of Colonel C. Lennox Tredcroft, on 20 September 1903.3 He died on 16 December 1915 at age 46, while on active service.3
