     Richard Blakiston-Houston was born on 8 February 1864.1 He was the son of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfield.1 He married Lilian Agnes Kidston, daughter of George Jardine Kidston, on 24 February 1897.1 He died on 21 May 1933 at age 69.1
     Richard Blakiston-Houston gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Rifle Brigade (Prince Consort's Own).1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 5th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Down.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Down in 1922.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Down.1 He lived at Roddens, County Down, Ireland.1 He lived at Orangefield, County Down, Ireland.1
