     Mary Buffett Christian also went by the nick-name of Memmie. From 24 December 1895, her married name became McCoy.1

     William Tilly McCoy also went by the nick-name of Willie Phil. He farmed at Steels Point, and was a leading horticulturist and agriculturist. He always took a keen interest in Norfolk Island affair, served on the Island Council, and not long before he died, he was preparing a submission for the Royal Commission, proposing a referendum to allow islanders to decide their own fate.1
