     Mary Bligh was born in 1783 at Lambeth, London, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of Vice-Admiral William Bligh and Elizabeth Betham.3,2 She was baptised on 7 July 1784.3 She married, firstly, Lieutenant unknown Putland before 1810.3 She married, secondly, Sir Maurice Charles Philip O'Connell, son of Charles Connell FitzPhilip O'Connell and Alicia O'Connell, on 8 May 1810.1 She died on 4 December 1864.1
     From before 1810, her married name became Putland.3 From 8 May 1810, her married name became O'Connell.
