     Henry Green was born on 23 August 1818 at Montreal, Quebec, Canada.1 He was the son of William John Green and Margaret Gray.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Aitchison on 9 October 1856.1 He married, secondly, Ida Carolina Johanna Gräfin von Lilienstein, daughter of Carl Arthur Graf von Lilienstein and Cathrina Elise Frederichsen, on 6 January 1862 at Christ Church, Colesberg, Cape Province, South Africa.1 He died on 29 September 1884 at age 66 at Barkly, Western Cape, South Africa.1
