Sir Thomas William Boord, 1st Bt. was born on 14 July 1838.1 He was the son of Joseph Boord and Mary Ann Newstead.1 He married Margaret D'Almaine Mackinlay, daughter of Thomas George Mackinlay and Katherine Ure, on 18 July 1861.1 He died on 2 May 1912 at age 73.1
Sir Thomas William Boord, 1st Bt. held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Greenwich between 1873 and 1895.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 1st Volunteer Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps.1 He was decorated with the Volunteer Officers' Decoration (V.D.).1 He was created 1st Baronet Boord, of Wakehurst Place, co. Sussex [U.K.] on 18 February 1896.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He was invested as a Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.).1
