     Sir John Wilde was born on 11 May 1781 at Warwick Square, Newgate, England.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Wilde and Mary Anne Knight.1 He was baptised on 27 May 1781 at St. Margaret, Lothbury, London, England.2 He married Jane Elizabeth Moore on 16 July 1805 at St. Benedictine's Church, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.3,2 He and Jane Elizabeth Moore were divorced in 1836.2 He died on 13 December 1859 at age 78 at Hopeville, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.1,2
     Sir John Wilde was educated at St. Paul's School, London, England.2 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1805.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He lived between 1816 and 1825 at Australia.2 He held the office of Chief Justice of the Cape of Good Hope between 1827 and 1855.1 He lived at Hopeville, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.3
     He had five sons.3

     Martha Tyrrell was the daughter of Sir John Tyrrell, 3rd Bt. and Mary Dolliffe.1 She married Lt.-Gen. Sir Thomas Drury, 1st and last Bt., son of Thomas Drury and Joyce Beacon, in October 1737 at Somerset House Chapel, The Strand, London, England.1 She died in June 1768 at Harley Street, Marylebone, London, England.2
     From October 1737, her married name became Drury.1

     Lt.-Gen. Sir Alfred Thomas Wilde was born circa 1820.2 He was the son of Edward Archer Wilde and Marianne Norris.1 He married Ellen Margaret Greene, daughter of Colonel unknown Greene.1 He died in 1878.1
     Lt.-Gen. Sir Alfred Thomas Wilde gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the service of the Madras Army.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.).1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).1
