Sir John Wilde was born on 11 May 1781 at Warwick Square, Newgate, England.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Wilde and Mary Anne Knight.1 He was baptised on 27 May 1781 at St. Margaret, Lothbury, London, England.2 He married Jane Elizabeth Moore on 16 July 1805 at St. Benedictine's Church, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.3,2 He and Jane Elizabeth Moore were divorced in 1836.2 He died on 13 December 1859 at age 78 at Hopeville, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.1,2
