Rt. Hon. Sir Walter Boyd, 1st Bt. was born on 28 January 1833.1 He was the son of Walter Boyd and Jane Macrory.2,1 He married Annie Catherine Anderson, daughter of Matthew Anderson, on 4 September 1862. He died on 25 June 1918 at age 85.1
Rt. Hon. Sir Walter Boyd, 1st Bt. graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1855 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was admitted to King's Inn in 1856 entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1864.1 He was invested as a Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1877.1 He was a practising Queen's Advocate Ireland between 1878 and 1885.1 He held the office of Judge of the Bankruptcy Court of Ireland between 1885 and 1897.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He held the office of Judge of the High Court, King's Bench Division between 1897 and 1916.1 He held the office of Judge of the Admiralty Court between 1910 and 1916.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1916.1 He was created 1st Baronet Boyd, of Howth House, Howth, co. Dublin [U.K.] on 29 June 1916.1

Sir Walter Herbert Boyd, 2nd Bt. was born on 31 March 1867.1 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Walter Boyd, 1st Bt. and Annie Catherine Anderson.1 He married Ruth Fry, daughter of Sir William Fry, on 19 December 1901.1 He died on 17 April 1948 at age 81, without surviving male issue.1
