     Basil Brooke was the son of Sir Henry Brooke and Elizabeth Wynter.1 He died in 1692.1
     He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was attainted by King James II.1 He succesfully defended Donegal against the Jacobite Army under Sarsfield.1
     He was ancestor of the Brookes of Donegal.1
