Philip Plantagenet Cary, son of Lt.-Col. Byron Plantagenet Cary, 12th Viscount Falkland and Mary Reade, on 20 March 1920.1 She died in 1972.1

     Major Hon. Philip Plantagenet Cary was born on 24 September 1895.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Byron Plantagenet Cary, 12th Viscount Falkland and Mary Reade.1,2 He married Esther Mildred Leon, daughter of Sir George Edward Leon, 2nd Bt. and Mildred Ethel Jennings, on 20 March 1920.1 He died on 21 June 1968 at age 72.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He held the office of Bluemantle Pursuivant at Arms between 1919 and 1923.2 He held the office of York Herald between 1923 and 1932.2 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Grenadier Guards.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was invested as a Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.).2
