Sir Melville Richmond Brown, 3rd Bt. was born on 13 October 1866.1 He was the son of Sir William Richmond Brown, 2nd Bt. and Emily Mountsteven.1 He married Lilian Alice Mabel Roussel, daughter of Robert Roussel, on 27 February 1906.1 He and Lilian Alice Mabel Roussel were divorced in 1931.1 He died on 20 February 1944 at age 77, without issue.1
Sir Melville Richmond Brown, 3rd Bt. gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Devonshire Regiment.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Brown, of Richmond Hill, Lancashire [U.K., 1863] on 10 May 1906.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Major in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Devonshire Regiment.1
