     Isla Clifton Brown was born on 19 December 1883.1 She was the daughter of James Clifton Brown and Amelia Rowe.1 She married, firstly, Reginald George Henderson, son of Robert Henderson, on 9 May 1911.1 She married, secondly, Colonel Charles Hemsley, son of Reverend Charles Hemsley, on 31 August 1920.1 She died on 5 February 1971 at age 87.1
     From 9 May 1911, her married name became Henderson.1 From 31 August 1920, her married name became Hemsley.1
