George Elphinstone Erskine was born on 20 January 1841.1 He was the son of George Keith Erskine and Selina Chambers.2 He married, firstly, Blanche Cates, daughter of George Cates and Harriet Nethersole, on 26 September 1861.1 He married, secondly, Eva Constance Sarah Edwards, daughter of Canon Ebenezer Wood Edwards, on 3 July 1895.1 He died on 12 September 1912 at age 71.1
